Kate went on to reveal that she’s also unwell as she’s contracted shingles – an infection that causes a painful rash.

She penned: ‘Morning guys. It’s a different type of Monday for me this week, it’s been a really stressful weekend!

‘One of the kids had a serious accident, thank goodness they are ok & have only ended up with their leg in a cast, it could have been so much worse, we are definitely being watched over.

‘l also have shingles , feeling really rubbish & sore & emotional from this weekends events!

‘So me & Rons [her dog] are chilling in bed for the morning. I would be so grateful for any advice.’

MailOnline has contacted Kate’s representatives for comment.

It comes after Kate revealed she had spoken to a psychotherapist about what it’s like to be part of a blended family at Christmas.

Kate admitted that she is sometimes hard on herself and ‘gets it a bit wrong’, panicking when she makes Sunday roasts and ‘ruining the vibe’ in the house. She said she knows its ‘important to relax’ in these situations.

Last year, Kate insisted that she never wanted to take the place of her stepchildren’s’ mother Rebecca – who died from cancer in 2015.

Kate explained that learning about Rebecca has made her a better parent.

She said: ‘Their mum is a massive part of our lives and always will be. I would never want the children to think I am taking the role of [Rebecca].

‘I am a maternal figure to them but their mum is their mum. She is part of our lives. We talk about her all the time. It’s really weird but I feel like I know her.’

She added: ‘For me to be the best parent to my three step-children I need to know her and know what she would do. I embrace all of that.

‘When I looked back it was hard. But I have got this mentality, I love Rio and if I love Rio then this has to work.

‘I want to be part of everything. I wouldn’t want to be a half hearted step mum. If I love him and the kids I need to be part of everything.’
