Arsenal feels message over Camavinga
Arsenal’s hopes of completing that ambitious loan deal for Eduardo Camavinga look to have suffered another blow.
Standard Sport brought you the news yesterday that the Gunners were pondering a high-profile swoop for the France midfielder.
However, Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti has insisted that Camavinga will not be leaving the Bernabeu in this transfer window.
“We will not let Camavinga leave, he’s untouchable — like Modric and Toni Kroos,” he said.
Chelsea and Newcastle miss out on Moukoko
That new contract for Youssufa Moukoko at Borussia Dortmund is now official.
The rumored Chelsea and Newcastle transfer target has committed his future to the Bundesliga giants until the summer of 2026.
“I was honored by the interest of other clubs, but ultimately it’s a decision of the heart,” he said.
“The fans have always supported me, and I also want to give something back to them and the club”.
Moukoko to stay at Dortmund
Newcastle and Chelsea were keen on signing Youssufa Moukoko this summer, with the Borussia Dortmund man out of contract at the end of the summer.
Fabrizio Romano reports that Moukoko has agreed a new deal with the Bundesliga side, one that ties him down until 2026.
He had a number of offers beyond those two Premier League sides, but is happy where he is.
Anthony happy at Bournemouth
Jaidon Anthony’s agent has suggested the winger will not be leaving the club this month despite reported interest from Arsenal.
The 23-year-old is out of contract at the end of the season, leading to plenty of speculation ove his future, but agent Godfrey Torto has put that to bed for now.
He told The Daily Echo: “With Jaidon running into the last six months of his contract, it’s natural that clubs would be interested in a player of his talent and age.
“However, Jaidon has always indicated he’s happy at Bournemouth.”
Man United want huge Garnacho contract
Manchester United reportedly want Alejandro Garnacho to sign a new eight-year-contract. Yes, eight. Todd Boehly would be proud.
The Mirror report the longest contract ever offered by the club is on the table for the winger, but Garnacho and his representatives do not want to commit for longer than four years.
There are also disagreements over wage demands, as the teenager enters the final 18 months of his current deal.
Madueke on turning down Man United
Noni Madueke has become Chelsea’s latest signing of the January window, as the big spending continues.
The Blues were also interested in the forward when he left Tottenham as a youngster in 2018, but Madueke opted to turn down Premier League clubs and make the move to PSV instead.
“Chelsea, Manchester United, a lot of European clubs [made offers],” Madueke explained. “I cam [to PSV] one time and as soon as I came I wanted to sign straight away.
“I knew going from Tottenham to United is pretty much the same thing. The reason I wanted to go was to progress quicker into the first team. PSV is a top European club. It made so much sense at the time.”
Firmino wants to extend Liverpool deal
Roberto Firmino has suggested he wants to extend his Liverpool deal and remain at the club.
The Brazilian is out of contract in the summer and had looked likely to leave on a free transfer, but his response to Liverpool’s matchday magazine makes it clear he is not looking to leave.
“I’m happy here and I intend to stay here and help Liverpool FC,” the 31-year-old said. “It’s a dream for all players to win the Premier League and Champions League.
“It’s history, a huge legacy. When it happened, we felt tremendously privileged, grateful to God for having given this to us.”
Porro focused on Sporting
Pedro Porro has insisted he is “happy” at Sporting despite Tottenham continuing to push for the wing-back.
Talks between the clubs are ongoing, with Sporting insisting the €45m release clause must be paid in full but Spurs hoping an agreement can be reached.
Whether a deal can be agreed remains to be seen but for now Porro remains a Sporting player, and he scored and provided an assist in their win over Vizela on Friday night. He pointed to the Sporting badge after scoring from the penalty spot.
Speaking after the match, the 23-year-old maintained he was not paying any attention to speculation surrounding his future.
“I’m not talking about the possibilities on the market – about staying nor about leaving”, Porro told SportTV.
“I’m focused on Sporting and I’m happy here.”
Camavinga ‘very happy’ at Real Madrid
Eduardo Camavinga is not going anywhere this month, according to his agent.
Arsenal are keen on taking the Real Madrid midfielder on loan, but Joshua Barnett has told Fabrizio Romano that will not be the case.
He said: “There’s no truth. Of course every club in the world would want him, but he’s very happy in Real Madrid and Real Madrid are very happy with Camavinga.”
Emery to let Chambers go
Unai Emery is expected to let Calum Chambers leave Aston Villa.
The Spaniard oversaw Chambers’ Arsenal exit when he was in charge at the Emirates, and Emery has once again decided the defender is not part of his plans.
